Halloween Movie Night by Barbara Picinich
Halloween pocket page spreads are always some of my favorite to work on. I love that Kelly always adds just the right amount of seasonal items to her cards in the kits each month that I can still do themed spreads, even if the stamps aren’t centered on that theme. I loved how the cards really worked with the Favorite Recipe stamps so that I could tell my story.
The We are #blessed stamps also had just the right amount of seasonal sentiments to help with my theme. Stacking them and layering the stamps has become one of my favorite ways to use these types of stamps. I typically stamp them on a scrap of paper and fussy cut them before attaching them to my image.
I love layering the stamps on vellum when my photo is just a bit too busy to stamp directly on it; this allows the image to still show underneath. I kept all of my stamping on this spread to just black ink this time. Sometimes I feel like color and sometimes black just ends up being what I reach for. Spooky Halloween photos will do that to you.
I really loved the mix of orange tones in the cards this month and when there’s purple anywhere in a kit, it’s going to get used. The journaling specific cards this month are some of the best Kelly has designed. I love the layout and the places for adding in the time on some of the cards. She really nailed the designs this month.
