Crush on the Earth
I had seen the quote “I’ve got a crush on the World” and it immediately made me think of my photos taken during a winter hike in Lake Placid, NY. It summed up my feelings for all the nature we had taken in within just a matter of hours.
I started by stamping the earth stamp from the My Universe kit in layers of grey and black. After using a circle punch to cut it out and popping it up with a foam dot, I added my quote typed out on a typewriter. The final word of the quote I stamped out using the Mrs. Gabriel alpha set. I was able to align the letters better as well as get them closer together by stamping out each letter individually versus lining the word up on a block all at once.
I really wanted to use the Freckled Fawn epoxy stickers to give this layout some shine…because well, they’re pretty darn cute. And with all the icicle photos I’d taken, I was definitely crushing on nature. By layering a couple cards from the My Universe kit I was able to frame the solar system as an image and embellish it with several star stickers.
The and I think to myself… quote card was the right amount of white space I needed to balance my layout, but I wanted to add just a hint more of color to it. The tiny stars from the My Universe stamp set + navy ink were a great combo. I stamped it several times around the edges of the quote to help it blend in even more with the surrounding cards and photos.
My journaling card was made using my typewriter, the thurs stamp from the Be Kind stamp set, and a cloud epoxy sticker from the My Universe kit. I loved the design of the days stamps with the slash mark and can totally see myself using this set in many layouts to come! The bae sticker from the Traveler’s Notebook kit on a woodsy photo of my husband was my final touch!
