Point Breeze by Anja Wade
Hi! Anja here. Today I’ll be sharing a layout I did in my traveler’s notebook featuring a few of the stamp sets available in the shop this month. I used the Highline alpha set, as well as the All You Need is Ice Cream set and the You Get Me set. I wanted to see if I could create a layout using primarily stamping. I love the ice cream set – it’s so cute! I definitely plan to use it to document some frozen treats this summer, but on this layout, I used it to create a background pattern in orange and red ink.
I used the solid circle to create a random scattering of circles across the page. I made sure to stamp some circles overhanging the edge of the page, and I sometimes stamped a second image without re-inking to vary the color saturation. Then I accented some of the circles in a contrasting color with the dot and line stamps. I also stamped the word yum on some of the circles. Whenever I get a stamp set, I always try to think of ways to use it as a pattern builder, and this one is great for that.
I used the Highline alpha set to stamp the title along the side of the page. I love this alpha and I’m sure it will be getting a lot of use – it’s perfect for big titles. I chose a label sticker from this month’s main kit to add a little journaling.
On this spread, I used 4 small photos, sized to 3 x 2. I use this size a lot, because it has the same aspect ratio as a 6 x 4 photo, and you can fit several of them on a single layout. Since my traveler’s notebook is 8.25 inches high, once the photos were stacked up, the gap was just the right size to fit a phrase from the You Get Me set. It’s the perfect stamp for a layout featuring my hilarious work friends.
I love that with a little stamping, I was able to create a layout that captures this fun afternoon spent in the sun with good friends. I hope you enjoy playing with these stamp sets as much as I did!
