When I saw the Wild stamp set I immediately knew I wanted to scrap my photos from a recent adventure to Sutro Forest.  Appropriately named Fairy Gates Trail, the forest trees looked magical as we walked along the trails.  Of course if you’re scrapping trees, the color green comes to mind.  I really liked the olive tones in the September Home Sweet Home Kit and used that as a jumping point.  Digitally I picked up that color and recolored the stripe card (from the Admit One Traveler’s Notebook Kit) which I stamped the three solid trees on; the other tones came from the same palette.

I liked the “This is Right Where I Want To Be” card, but didn’t want to use it as a 3x4.  I digitally recolored the letters and shrunk it down to a 2x2 card.   I took the same approach with my striped journaling card.  Starting with the navy 4x6 card from the Home Sweet Home Kit, I recolored the stripes to green, cropped, and shrunk it down to a 2x2 with journaling in 8pt.  The card with Sutro Tower was actually a postcard flyer I picked up from a little art studio advertising an upcoming show.

I really enjoyed stretching the use of these kits by digitally editing them to perfectly match my photos.  Have you ever made a hybrid layout?  If you’re a subscriber and receive the digital versions, try your hand at using this version too!
