March Currently by Jen Carlson
I haven’t done many Traveler’s Notebook spreads, but the theme of the Tina's Currents Travelers Notebook kit this month prompted me to give it a try. The icons and script are so cute and I thought they’d go perfectly with some tiny little photos. I’m a sucker for tiny scrapping details.
I started by adhering two of the TN cards to either side of my spread. I loosely sized my photos, printed them out, and played with arrangement across the two pages. Once I determined placement I attached them to a white strip of cardstock on the right side and directly to the TN page on the left. The white strip allowed the photos to stand out more, rather than blending into the blue background.
This TN kit’s stamp set is SO cute! Did I mention that?! I could’ve used the adorable sticker sheet that came with it, but I wanted the icons to stand out. I stamped them on cardstock, fussy cut around them, and attached them to the corners of each associated photo. Even though I have oodles of layouts I could’ve photographed for the “making” pic, I thought I’d capture what I’ve been preparing for lunches. I mean, it’s a given I scrapbooked this month, right??
Lastly, I was going to do my journaling on the left side. At first I thought I would hand write everything out, but then decided I didn’t want another style of script competing with the beautiful script stamps. I created a 2.5” x 3.5” template in Photoshop, entered my text, then went over the referenced words (making, eating, listening, etc.) using the eraser tool. I ensured the color matched the “Currently” sticker I adhered to the top. A little pop of color using the orange alpha stickers and it was complete!
Thanks for reading through my process! Even though I’m always talking about how you can use the TN kit in a standard pocket page spread, I challenge all you pocket page scrappers to try your hand at a TN layout!
