Travel Journal by Theresa Doan
Hi everyone! Theresa here to share another traveler’s notebook layout with you. This one is coming from my most recent travel journal to Taipei and Tokyo. When traveling, I like to keep my journaling supplies simple and minimal. I find that I get more done this way. Less is more! I usually bring just a black ink pad, a few stamp sets and my photo printer. I always have one alphabet stamp set that I use throughout the entire journal, to keep it cohesive.
These trips are annual trips for my husband and I. We go to Taipei to visit my father in law and stop off in Tokyo for a few days. My husband usually either has a business meeting or friends he would like to see in Tokyo, so I get a little “me” time, which I wanted to document. For this layout, I started with a patterned card from the Winter is Coming TN kit. I then took the More Self Love 3”x8” card from the Feel it All mini kit, and cut a few inches from the top of the card. I layered this on top of the patterned card.
I wandered around the Shinjuku area of Tokyo, so I used the Cobble Hill alphabet and stamped Shinjuku along the right edge of the page. I used a few of the phrase stamps from the Feel it All kit in with my journaling, they were perfect for this page! I was out doing some shopping, so I took the shopping bag outline and stamped that on another patterned card. I fussy cut that out and used that as an embellishment.
I also used the Cobble Hill alphabet throughout my entire journal for airport codes, restaurant and shop names.
