April Pages by Laura Wilson
Hello! It’s Laura here and I’m so excited to show you the layout I made with the April release products from Kelly Purkey Shop! I’m participating in The 100 Day Project and as part of my project, I want to get caught up on my scrapbooking. I’m starting with my 2018 album. The next layout that needed to be completed was Week 2 (January 8th-January 14th). This was the week before the week of my wedding, so I was a little stressed out. I didn’t take very many photos and I didn’t have a lot of free time to scrapbook. It feels so good to have this layout done!
All the April release products are so colorful! I used the Good Things main kit to create my 9x12 pages. I knew I only had a few photos from that week, so I started by printing my photos. Then, I went through the kit and picked out my favorite cards. I always lay out the pictures and cards before added anything. Once I know where I want all the cards and photos, I go back and add alphabet stickers, dates, stamps, and embellishments.
I always put the dates for the week in the top left card. I love that the geometric print card had a label already on it, so I put that in the top corner. It had three small gray lines above the blank label. After I stamped the dates on the card, I added tiny staples in these three lines. I love that they matched up perfectly and added a little texture to the card.
Stamping is my favorite way to add details to my layouts. I mainly used black ink for the stamps on these pages to add a little contrast to the bright colors. I used the Charleston alphabet stamps to add a caption to one of my journaling cards. The Do Your Thing stamp set is so fun! I knew I wanted to use one of the poster stamps on this layout. I did a lot of projects for my blog this week, so the Do Your Thing text was perfect! I didn’t get the stamp centered very well, so I added a tiny stamp from the 100% Fun Travelers Notebook kit. It’s tiny, but balanced the card out perfectly!
I love the phrase stamps in the Good Times stamp set. It’s so fun to mix and match the stamps to create different sayings. During this week, I had a lot of help from family, so I used “great days awesome people” to document how I was feeling. I wanted the text to be easy to read, so I stamped on white card stock and cut out the words. I finished the page by adding the alphabet stickers from the main kit around the page.
These pages are so bright and fun. It’s so colorful! And it definitely captures the good times that I had that week! What good memories are you documenting with your April products? - Laura
