My brunch date with Krista
One of the best things about being on this Creative Team is the amazing people I get to interact with online. When you have an opportunity to meet one of those friends in person you grab it. And when you also get to enjoy delicious food too, it’s a total win/win.
I knew immediately when I saw Kelly’s Let’s Get Crafty Stamp Set that it would be the perfect background for an image of Krista and I that we snapped while we were waiting for our table. This is one of my favorite techniques to use in my Travelers Notebook because it gives me a chance to a) use all of the stamps and b) create a background that helps tell the story. Sometimes when I do this technique I just start and wing it but in this case I took some time to lay out the stamps on the page prior to inking them so I could get a feel for how they could flow down the page. I also try to keep in mind where my photo is going to go so that I get a good placement of stamped images that will be seen once the photo is in place.
For the left side of the page I added in a photo of our food and behind that photo I added in a glassine bag so I could tuck some additional photos behind. That’s one of the challenges of working in a small Travelers Notebook space but tucking photos or clipping photos together is one of the ways to solve that issue. I used one of the cards from the A Little Magic kit and added my text digitally prior to printing out the card. This allowed me to create a text box that was white but still leaving some of the green patterned card visible.
To complete the spread I added in that super cute strip of emojis from the Crazy One’s stamp set and highlighted the Wow face because our breakfast was pretty epic.
