Hello everyone Barbara here to share a Travelers Notebook spread. Typically the stories I tell in my scrapbooks and notebooks are usually fun, loving and happy times. I don’t tend to document the hard parts of life but I was really drawn to some of the uplifting and inspiring cards in the Stars Say mini kit. I knew they would be perfect for helping me document how proud I was of my daughter getting through a pretty tough weekend.

Before I started the layout I edited a photo of my daughter from her soccer tryouts and I erased all of the background of the photo so it was just her standing and looking off into the distance. I did this for the first time in a recent notebook spread and I loved how it looked. I love the bold statement it makes when you remove the background and just have the image left behind. I could have stamped underneath the photo but I wanted to add my title and keep things really simple on the page so I opted to use the Highline alpha stamp set to stamp out the title. I sized the photo to fit on the page allowing the title to still show.

On the left side of the page I used two of the journaling cards from the Stars Say mini kit and added text to one prior to printing it out. I cut them to be different sizes so they wouldn’t line up perfectly on the page. I used two stamps from the Hold On main kit and I loved the high five stamp. I kept everything black and white since the cards were black and white. It really helped make the bright colors on the photo pop even more by keeping the color scheme more monochromatic.

I used one stamp from the You Get Me stamp set in the upper right corner of the spread just to fill in the gap and ended up adding in her name using the alpha stickers in the Flower Shop Travelers Notebook kit.

I really loved how the sentiments from the Stars Say cards paired with the Hold On kit stamps. It’s always fun to build pages using elements from the kits and stamp sets and finding ways to merge them together.
