One of my favorite moments to document is definitely my children’s birthdays. So when I saw Kelly Purkey’s new A Little Magic Main Kit, I knew I would use it to document my daughters thirteenth birthday party. It was so magical for her and this kit was perfect to document her magical day.
I always start my layout by adding the week I’m documenting to my title card. I used the new Alpha Stamp Set Orchard to stamp out the word WEEK then used the Sullivan Street Alpha Stamp to stamp out the number FORTY-THREE on a label that matched the title card. I felt like the card was missing something (it definitely needed some Magic) so I stamped the word MAGICAL and some stars using the main kit stamp set, and that definitely added the magic to my title card.
I love using my stamps to stamp directly on my pictures. Using the A Little Magic Stamp Set I stamped directly on this balloon picture with white brilliance ink. The word BELIEVE is so bold and beautiful, I totally love how it stands out against the black balloons.
I’m not the type of crafter that’s afraid to cut down her cards, I love using my cards as embellishments, and that’s what I did. I trimmed down one of the 3x4 cards that had the phrase YOU ARE PURE MAGIC and added it to another 3x4 card with stars. Now my Phrase has a beautiful star background and I love how it turned out :)
Of course my layout isn’t complete without adding HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I really wanted to use this beautiful patterned 4x6 card, but it was a bit too busy. So I stamped out happy birthday using the Orchard Alpha stamps on white card stock and then trimmed it down and added it to the 4x6 patterned card. This is a very simple but yet very affective way to add stamping on a busy pattern.
I’m so happy with how my layout turned out. This kit added the perfect amount of Magic to my daughters birthday layout. I hope I was able to inspire you on how you can use the new Kelly Purkey A Little Magic Kit in your projects.
