January: Week Four
Hi! This is Laura and I’m excited to share the first layout I’ve made for my 2018 weekly album. With my wedding on January 20th, I put off working on scrapbooking to focus on that. Now, I’m getting started on my weekly album and getting caught up on the past few week. I wanted to start with the week that was the most fun, our honeymoon! The colors in this month’s kit were so bright and fun. They captured the colorful vibe of our Cambodian honeymoon.
On my weekly album, I always like to start the first card in the pockets with the dates for the week. I loved the tiny numbers in the Be Kind stamp set, so I used those to add a 22 and 28 for the week.
Alphabet stickers are my favorite for adding captions to photos and cards. I used the alphabet from the main kit and the Forever Travelers Notebook kit to add details from our trip to cards.
The Mrs. Gabriel alphabet stamps are so fun to use. I used a light blue ink that matched the colors in the kit to spell out honeymoon. Then I cut them all out and glued them on to a card. Cutting out such small pieces can take a while, but I think the final product is so cool!
I love all the universe details that were in the My Universe kit! The silver foil stickers were such a great way to add a little sparkle to the page. 3x3 pocket pages are one of my favorite layout styles to work with, so I just trimmed down some of the cards included in the kit to fit the smaller size. For this layout, I also experimented with adding text in Photoshop and printing the cards. When you sign up for the membership, you get a digital copy of the cards as well as the physical materials. My typewriter isn’t working, so I decided to try printing. It was so easy to open the digital files and type with Photoshop. It was a great way to try using white text instead of always using black with the typewriter.
